About me

My name is Keith, I'm Irish and I've been based in Lisbon, Portugal since 2022, where I live with my partner Carol and our dog Peter. Before that I spent several years living in a small city in the north of The Netherlands called Groningen.

It was there where I completed my degree in Mathematics at the Bernoulli institute for Mathematics in the University of Groningen. After completing my degree, I began taking on more and more students. During this time I had a particular focus on students taking Statistics courses in the Psychology Faculty of the University of Groningen.

I continued as a private tutor all through Covid, where I had made the switch to Online tutoring in light of the restrictions. During this time, I taught a wide range of courses, primarily at a University level. As I was approaching 2 years as a tutor, I received a job offer as a Game Security Analyst for an Online Poker Company. Poker had been a passion of mine all through my late teens and early 20s so I jumped on the opportunity. I spend approximately 4 years working with that company before it closed its doors in early 2025.

Since early 2025, I've returned to my roots as a Private Tutor, where I've predominantly been teaching students doing their Junior or Leaving Certificate under the Irish School System. Along side this, I've been working with University students on both their Mathematics courses and Thesis Data Analytics.

To compliment my mathematics tutoring and perhaps to give myself a little break from the numbers, I've also been coaching Chess. I started playing Chess in 2018, and since then I have achieved a peak online rating over 2000 ELO, placing me in the top 3% of Online Chess players.

I love to teach and always try to bring a positive energy to my classes. I'm very comfortable at adapting to different courses and programs. I am extremely passionate about Mathematics and love to share what I know!
